Rod Stewart postponed a scheduled Cincinnati concert Sunday after undergoing an unexpected medical procedure, marking the latest Health-related setback for the veteran singer during his current tour.
According to Fox News, Stewart, 81, was set to perform at Riverbend Music Center with Richard Marx as part of his "One Last Time" tour.
The venue announced the postponement shortly before the concert was scheduled to begin.
"Due to an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention, Rod Stewart's performance tonight in Cincinnati at Riverbend Music Center has been POSTPONED," the venue said.
Officials said a new date was being worked out, with more information expected Tuesday.
Tickets already purchased for Sunday's performance will be honored when the concert is rescheduled.
"Rod is expected to make a quick recovery and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati," the venue added.
Stewart's representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The postponement follows several other disruptions to Stewart's performances this year.
In May, Stewart canceled two scheduled shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas after doctors advised him to do so. He later told fans that he was resting his voice while recovering from a sinus infection.
"My apologies to my family of fans," Stewart wrote at the time. "I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection."
Another performance was called off in June, this time in Chula Vista, California. Stewart said he had received treatment and was feeling better but was unable to perform because of problems with his voice.
"I’m very disappointed and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans," he said. "I did everything I could to make the show happen tonight, but unfortunately it just wasn’t possible."
Later that month, Stewart experienced another concerning moment while performing.
Video from the concert showed him leaning on equipment before members of his backstage team approached with an oxygen tank and a cold compress.
Stewart acknowledged the incident from the stage, telling the audience he had "nearly fainted."
Despite the recent Health issues, Stewart has continued working through his tour schedule.
Sunday's postponement is expected to be temporary, with organizers saying he is recovering and intends to return to the stage once a new Cincinnati date is established.
