The worldâs tallest residential building will honor Formula 1 racing legend Ayrton Senna.
When it is constructed in the southern Brazilian city of Balneário Camboriú, Senna Tower will be over 500 m (1640.42 feet) high.
The current tallest residential skyscraper is New York Cityâs Central Park Tower, which is 472m (1548.56 feet) high.
Construction firm and developer FG Empreendimentos say the skyscraper will cost £415m (over $500 million) and is scheduled âto launchâ in the last quarter of 2024.

The company says the project is co-branding with Marca Senna, a brand created by Ayrton Senna himself.
The driverâs niece, Lalalli Senna, a visual artist and anthropologist, designed the building concept.
Lalalli Senna said: âEvery great story begins with a journey. A journey of discovery, growth, and transformation. The Senna Tower is a work of art of monumental proportions: a symbol that inspires us to seek to overcome our limitations and express the greatness within us.

âThe tower has this architectural form precisely to symbolize this heroic journey of overcoming our ideals and the manifestation of our deep potential.â
FG Empreendimentos says the Senna Tower has already received approval for the Neighborhood Impact Study (EIV), the Environmental Implementation License (LAI), and approval from the city government of Balneário Camboriú.

They said the development âembodies Ayrton Sennaâs story of overcoming obstacles, which inspires people of all generationsâ.
It will feature 228 units, including 18 âsuspended mansions,â 204 apartments, 4 duplex penthouses, 2 mega triplex penthouses, and 8 high-speed elevators.

Six private leisure floors will be distributed across several floors of the development, in addition to a rooftop area exclusively for residential use.
Ayrton Senna died as a result of an accident while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, driving for the Williams team.
