A shooter opened fire at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility on Wednesday morning in Dallas, Texas, and has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.
Noem reported “multiple injuries and fatalities” from the shooting but noted the situation is ongoing in a Wednesday X post. “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them,” Noem said. “It must stop.”
Local police responded to an assist officer call at about 6:40 a.m. on North Stemmons Freeway and found that a shooter had fired at the ICE building “from an adjacent building,” the Dallas Police Department said on X. The shooting wounded three people, including two ICE detainees who have died, according to multiplereports.
