āSaturday Night Liveā (SNL) mocked President Joe Bidenās moment where he tripped walking up the stairs of Air Force One.
Opening a āWeekend Updateā segment, SNLās Colin Jost said, āWell, this week kind of felt like Biden on those stairs. You thought it had to get better, but then it repeatedly got worse.ā
He went on to touch on Bidenās call for universal background checks in the wake of two fatal mass shootings in the U.S. in a week.
Jost later added of Bidenās Air Force One moment, āI would just like to congratulate Biden on how well he did the worm down those stairs,ā before an edited clip of Bidenās trip played.

Biden tripped three times while walking up the Air Force One stairs on March 19.
The White House said that it was āvery windy outsideā and Biden is doing ā100% fine.ā White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also said, āI almost fell coming up the steps myself.ā
Additionally, White House Press Secretary Jen Psakitold reporters at a press briefing on March 22, āI donāt know if youāve been up those steps, theyāre a little tricky sometimes.ā
However, former President Donald Trump did not stay silent after Bidenās moment walking up the stairs.
āI watch as Joe Biden went up the stairs today and I said āI didnāt lose to him,ā which we didnāt lose to him. Almost 75 million votes and probably a lot more than that,ā Trump said. The former president continued to push unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud following the 2020 presidential election.
During the SNL segment, āWeekend Updateā co-anchor Michael Che touched on Bidenās press conference, noting it was an hour-long.
āWow, shout out to Fixodent,ā he joked, adding that Biden was asked if he will be running for reelection in 2024, āWhich is probably the nicest way to ask him if he plans on being alive in three years,ā as the comedian put it.
