Radio host Charlamagne Tha God and comedian Andrew Schulz accused Democrats of pretending to be morally upright in order to deflect from their corruption during a Friday episode of their podcast.
Schulz interviewed independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on a Monday episode of his âFlagrantâ podcast. On âThe Brilliant Idiots,â the comedian said that he had wanted to ask Sanders whether the distinction between Democrats and Republicans was that both are influenced by special interests like big pharma and wealthy corporations, but only the Democrats support causes like transgender bathroom policies.

âIs that the only difference?â Schulz asked.
âNo, I think the difference is Democrats act like theyâre something theyâre not,â Charlamagne replied.
Schulz said Americans are often labeled âsome fucking right-wing maniacâ when they âsee throughâ the inconsistency.
âBut thatâs why they virtue signal so much,â Charlamagne said. âThey virtue signal to distract you from the fact: âWeâre doing the same shit weâre just doing it ⊠covertly.ââ
âSo youâre just using those communities that you say you care about? Youâre using those communities that you say you care about as a smoke screen so you can keep on taking the same money from big pharma, keep on taking the same money from the healthcare companies, keep on taking the same money from the military companies. Like, stop the bullshit,â Schulz added. âThe internet is available to people. We can Google things. You canât lie like you could before with the protection of a corporate media. Itâs seen through. You have to have a different mode that you can play.â
Sanders on âFlagrantâ agreed with Schulzâs co-host Akaash Singh that the Democratic Party is âa threat to democracyâ based on its presidential primary process, saying it is the reason he is âproud to be an independent.â
Former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel downplayed the importance of transgender issues on an April episode of the âIâve Had Itâ podcast, criticizing the Democratic Party for focusing on âbathroomâ issues at the expense of âkitchen tableâ and âfamily roomâ issues.
Democratic lawmakers, including those representing congressional districts President Donald Trump secured in November, have persisted in championing left-wing stances on transgender issues despite their unpopularity among Americans.
Democratic strategist James Carville on May 13 also pushed his party to cease using a slew of left-wing words and phrases he said are ineffective, confusing or alienating to voters. For instance, he advised against saying âLBGQT+.â
âI wouldnât even use the âLBGQT+â or whatever it is. I just call people gay, the lesbian or trans ⊠Just use the word that is most commonly used among people as they talk to each other,â he said, adding that people are âtrying to signal that thereâs something wrong with the term or youâre just trying to show people how smart you are.â
