Most of the cost for first lady Dr. Jill Biden to travel from Paris, France, to Wilmington, Delaware, to attend Hunter Bidenās trial will be paid mostly by taxpayers ā over $200,000.
A small portion of the cost will be paid by the Democratic National Committee (DNC), perĀ ABC News.

If officials travel for personal reasons, they have to pay the government back for āthe full coach fare for all flights,ā according to U.S. Code.
Jill Biden flew round trip from Paris to Wilmington for about $223,000.
A one-way trip from the Paris to Delaware would cost about $111,500, according to the National Taxpayers Union Foundation.
The cost is based on a flight that lasts eight hours.
The Air Forceās hourly reimbursement rate also plays a factor in the charge.
The reimbursable rate is $13,816 per hour, according to the Air Force.
The DNC will pay the cost of two first-class tickets for the two trips she made in between Paris and Wilmington, a DNC spokesperson said.
However, the spokesperson did not state how much that would be.
The spokesperson said they will pay what they have to by law at the āspecified rate.ā
According to Google flights, a first-class ticket from Paris to Wilmington is $6,655.
This means the DNC will pay $13,310, leaving about $209,690 to come out of taxpayer funds.
