A teacher who was killed during the school Shooting in Uvalde, Texas, made a phone call during her final moments.
Fourth-grade teacher Eva Mireles was in her classroom when the Shooting occurred at Robb Elementary School, killing her, another teacher, and 19 students, according to People.
As the gunman was Shooting, Mireles called her husband, Ruben Ruiz, who was a school district police officer and on the scene that day.
Ruiz was prohibited by other police officers from entering the building.
“She’s in the classroom and he’s outside. It’s terrifying,” Uvalde County Judge Bill Mitchell said, according to the New York Times.
Mitchell also told reporters that he does not know exactly what was said during the phone call but that “the general topic was that the gunman was already on the attack,” according to People.
