Vice President J.D. Vance skewered Democrats on Thursday for refusing to stand up to support victims of high-profile violent crimes during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.
The Democrats remained seated when Trump acknowledged Dalilah Coleman, a 6-year-old girl who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a vehicle accident caused by an illegal alien, and the mother of Iryna Zarutska, who was murdered on a train in North Carolina. Vance condemned the party for not setting aside their opposition to Trump to support these victims and their families.
“You watch their reaction to some of what he was saying and all I could think was,these people are kind of crazy … This six-year-old girl, hurt by a human being who never should have been in this country in the first place, who was led into this country by Joe Biden and the Democrats,and she’s hugging her dad, and she’s so excited, and you can tell, and I think everybody’s heartfeels very, you know, you get that warm and fuzzy feeling,” Vance said. “And then I look over the congressional Democrats, and they’re just scowling. They cannot clap their hands for a six-year-old who survived an attack from an illegal alien.”
“What is that? What kind of a person can’t stand up and cheerfor an innocent young girl who’s doing well, who’s showing the entire country strength andresilience?” Vance continued.
Vance also ridiculed Democrats for not standing in support of prioritizing U.S. citizens over illegal aliens.
