Border czar Tom Homan on Wednesday said that President Donald Trump’s federal takeover of Washington, D.C., means that the city can no longer enforce its sanctuary status.
Homan said on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is working “hand-in-hand” with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), which has been federally taken over, to arrest and deport any illegal immigrant criminal in Washington. I mean, I’m not saying every illegal alien in D.C.’s a criminal, but many are. So these are people we’re gonna focus on. Illegal alien criminal safety threats in D.C. is not gonna be protected. There is no sanctuary for these people in D.C.,” Homan said.
