Border czar Tom Homan told âFox and Friendsâ co-host Lawrence Jones Monday that he couldnât understand why a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to return terrorists to American soil.
United States District Judge James Boasberg of the District of Columbia issued an injunction Saturday ordering the Trump administration to turn around two planes the White House says were carrying members of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang to El Salvador. Homan defended Trumpâs decision to use the Alien Enemies Act to deport members of the Venezuelan gang, saying it was a âgame changer.â
âI donât know why. I donât know why any judge would want terrorists returned to the United States. First of all, that video, what a beautiful thing to see,â Homan told Jones, who called the video posted on X by El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele âincredible.â

âLook, President Trump, by proclamation, invoked the authorities of Alien Enemies Act. Which he has a right to do and itâs a game changer and we removed over 200 violent criminals from the United States. Just not TdA, but also MS-13,â Homan continued. âThe actions of President Trump made this country safer. Every criminal alien, every criminal public safety threat and national security threat removed from country makes this country safer. Thatâs what American voters voted for. Thatâs the mandate of the president and the president is keeping his promise.â
Upon taking office on Jan. 20, President Donald Trump issued several executive orders to address illegal Immigration, including designating Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, declaring a national emergency on the southern border and directing federal agencies to use âall available resources and authoritiesâ on securing the border.
âThis president, President Trump is a game changer,â Homan said. âThe Alien Enemies Act hasnât been used in a long time and when I watched the video and involved this week when this whole movement, this is an extraordinary thing that President Trump is doing to keep his promise to the American people to make the country safe again and heâs doing a fabulous job.â
Homan also noted that information on the deportation flights had been leaked to the press.
âInformation was leaked ⌠I donât quite know how it got leaked, but there was a court â emergency court hearing on five people that were ⌠scheduled to be deported. The judge had a written order say these five people canât be removed right now,â Homan said. âIt wasnât until this flight was in international waters heading down to El Salvador that the judge made some comment about returning the flights. We are already in international waters. Weâre outside the borders of the United States. Iâm the border czar. Once you are outside the border, you know, it is what it is.â
âWhen theyâre in international waters already on the way south, close to landing, do you know what? We did what we had to do, removed terrorists ⌠significant public safety threats to the United States by the order, the proclamation by the president of the United States. We did the right thing,â Homan continued.
Homan told the âFox and Friendsâ co-host âyour guess is as good as mineâ about what the judge was thinking with the order. âThat just defies logic,â he added.
