Border czar Tom Homan appeared to calmly eat an apple on Wednesday while walking past protesters shouting at him about deportations during his visit to the New York state capitol in Albany.
Homan was in Albany to criticize the state’s sanctuary law and to support efforts by Republican lawmakers to pass a state version of the Laken Riley Act, the New York Post reported. Video posted by City and State New York associate state politics reporter Austin Jefferson showed Homan eating an apple and smirking as he passed the protesters, who were blocked by police.

“No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here!” the protesters chanted.
Other protesters shouted at Homan about the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after his green card was revoked over his leadership of pro-Hamas protests at Columbia University.
