A 19-year-old Austrian admitted to authorities that planned to kill himself and others at a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.
The attack was to take place Thursday or Friday, officials said.
The teen was arrested by police Wednesday regarding the plot to target a Swift show at Ernst Happel Stadium.
The suspect planned an attack on fans, which involved “bladed weapons as well as the construction of a bomb,”
a press release provided by the Vienna Federal Ministry of the Interior on Thursday read.
A search of the suspect’s home revealed “chemical substances, liquids, explosive and technical devices that could be used to manufacture explosives,” Franz Ruf, director general for public security, said. Bomb-making instructions were also allegedly found.
The suspect, who was not named, confessed to the allegations against him as well as swore allegiance to ISIS, according to officials.
A 17-year-old was also arrested. That teen was employed by a facility management company that was to be on duty during Swift’s concerts, officials said.
