Former President Trump did not hold back when President Joe Biden announced his decision to leave the presidential race.
Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to declare it was undemocratic for Biden to drop out. He also did not miss an opportunity to critique Bidenās mental fitness,Ā The HillĀ reported.
Trump was on a roll as he posted 10 times between the time Biden dropped out and Monday morning.
The former president said it was unfair to the Republican Party to be forced to face a new opponent. He added Biden should resign as president if he canāt run for reelection.
āThe Democrats pick a candidate, Crooked Joe Biden, he loses the Debate badly, then panics, and makes mistake after mistake, is told he canāt win, and decide they will pick another candidate, probably Harris,ā Trump wrote Monday. āThey stole the race from Biden after he won it in the primaries ā A First! These people are the real THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!ā
Many others in the Republican Party have intimated that by Biden dropping out of the race, Democrats were going against the will of the Democratic primary voters.Ā
On the other side of the political spectrum, Democrats have, for the most part, embraced Vice President Kamala Harris, as the heir apparent.
Trump also attacked Bidenās mental acuity, claiming Biden probably wouldnāt remember leaving the race.
āItās a new day and Joe Biden doesnāt remember quitting the race yesterday! He is demanding his campaign schedule and arranging talks with Presidents Xi of China, and Putin of Russia, concerning the possible start of World War 3. Biden is āsharp, decisive, energetic, angry, and ready to go!āā Trump wrote.
āItās not over! Tomorrow Crooked Joe Bidenās going to wake up and forget that he dropped out of the race today!ā he wrote in another post.
Trump also said Biden should resign now and asked, āWho is running our Country right now? Itās not Crooked Joe, he has no idea where he is. If he canāt run for office, he canāt run our Country!!!ā
