New York Gov. Kathy Hochul didn’t hold back her feelings toward Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The feeling seems mutual as the former president called Hochul out as in the “nastiest speaker” Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

According to The Hill, Hochul referred to Trump as a “fraud” in her speech Monday.

Trump, Hochul said, was “born a New Yorker, but ended up a fraud, a philanderer and a felon.”

“He wasn’t raised with the New York values that I know. He never had to worry about child care costs, or groceries, or rent,” Hochul added. “He never had to worry about anything — or anyone — but himself.”

Trump responded Wednesday with a post on Truth Social, writing, “Kathy Hochul, the very unpopular Governor of New York, was the nastiest speaker on Monday evening (at the Democrat National Convention) as it pertains to your favorite President, me.”

“Her total hatred, and statements made about me, had no bounds,” he added.

Trump then touted his work in New York.

“Number one, I did a GREAT job in New York, employed thousands of people, built some of the most beautiful and successful buildings, and paid billions of dollars in taxes. Number two is that, on the very distinct possibility I will win the Presidency, wouldn’t it be better for the people of New York State to have a Governor who got along with the President?” he posted. “Adversarial relationships are not good in Politics!”

In 2024, Trump was ordered to pay more than $355 million for conspiring to alter his net worth to receive tax and insurance benefits in a New York civil court case.

Trump was then

convicted in a criminal case, also in New York, involving hush money paid to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump has referred to the civil case as a “witch hunt” and has said the criminal case was politically motivated.

“With the vitriol displayed by her on Monday night, it is no wonder that the Judges have treated me so badly,” he wrote. “The whole system is RIGGED, and companies are leaving because of it!!!”
