A simple Presidential Library wonât satisfy President Donald Trump â not by a longshot.
âItâs gonna be most likely a hotel,â Trump told reporters Tuesday in the Oval Office.
Trump was asked about his Presidential Library in response to a video posted by his son, Eric Trump Monday.
The younger Trump posted a video of a rendering of his fatherâs Presidential Library. The structure depicted, seen towering over Miami, resembled One World Trade Center in New York.
If built to scale, this libraryâs square footage would dwarf every other presidential libraries.
Watch:
âThe Donald J. Trump Presidential Library is officially here,â Eric Trump wrote. âOver the past six months, I have poured my heart and soul into this project with my incredible team at @Trump. This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida, will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known. These images have never been seen by the public â until today.â
On Tuesday, Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy seized the opportunity to ask about the project.
âYour son Eric posted a photo of what will be the Trump Presidential Library,â Doocy said. âItâs a huge skyscraper. Is that all a library? What else is going in there?â
âItâs a museum or a library,â Trump responded. âBut I wouldnât start it until Iâm out of office. I donât believe in building libraries or museums.â
Trump then criticized former President Barack Obamaâs Presidential Library, saying it is a âvery unattrative buildingâ that is âin not a good locationâ in Chicago.
âWill people live there?â Doocy asked.
âNo, itâs gonna be most likely a hotel,â Trump answered. âThe concept, could be office but itâs most likely gonna be a hotel with a beautiful building underneath and a 747 Air Force One in the lobby, which is going to be a trick.â
