President Donald Trump is launching his latest attack on Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
He told his supporters during a campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Harris could never become the first female president because the American people would not allow it.
âPeople donât like her. Nobody likes her. She could never be the first woman president. She could never be. That would be an insult to our country,â Trump said.
Watch his comments below:
The president previously described her as ânasty, a sort of madwoman, a disaster, the meanest, most horrible, most disrespectful of anybody in the U.S. Senate.â
Harris recently responded to several of Trumpâs insults during her joint interview with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on ABC News on Aug. 21, as IJR previously reported.
She told ABC his remarks are âdesigned to distractâ from the âneglectâ and âharmâ he has caused Americans.
Harris has been critical of the Trump administrationâs handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a speech at George Washington University on Aug. 27, Harris slammed his response ahead of his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, as IJR previously reported.
She said, âHe failed to protect the American people.â
Harris also joined Biden for a âsocially distanced conversationâ on Sept. 1 to criticize Trumpâs management of the outbreak.
âWhen you have a president of the United States who is just dismissing it like itâs some, you know, thing he can just flick away or magically wave a wand, instead of stepping up to say, âMy people are in crisis, and I need to step up to take care of them,'â Harris said. âHe doesnât have it in him.â
During her appearance on CNNâs âState of the Union,â on Sunday, she told Dana Bash she âwould not trust his wordâ on a potential coronavirus vaccine.
She stressed there is not a lot âwe can trust that comes out of Donald Trumpâs mouth.â
