Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden is expected to announce his running mate sometime this week.
All the world knows about Bidenās running mate is that whoever it is it will be a woman, as the former vice president committed to picking a female vice president.
During an interview on Outkick on Tuesday morning, PresidentĀ Donald TrumpĀ was asked about the Bidenās vice presidential search.
He said, āI think that I would be inclined to go a different route than what heās done.ā
āFirst of all, he roped himself into a certain group of people,ā he continued referring to Bidenās commitment to choosing a woman. āSome people would say men are insulted by that, and some people would say itās fine.ā
Listen to the presidentās comments below (starting at 19:55):
Whoever Biden chooses, Trump said he does not think it would make too much of a difference in the electoral landscape, āYou can pick George Washington to be your vice president. Letās pick up Abraham Lincoln coming back from the dead. They just donāt seem to vote for the vice president.ā
Although, the president went on to say that it will be a āvery important pickā because āJoeās got some things going on ā letās not kid ourselves.ā
While Trump said he is āinterestedā to see who Biden chooses, he added, āIn the end, I donāt think itās going to matter. Joeās going to have to stand on his own two feet.ā
Biden is expected to announce his running mate his week, and some of the reported front-runners for the position include Sens. Tammy Duckworth (Ill.), Kamala Harris (Calif.), Rep. Karen Bass (Calif.), and former national security adviser Susan Rice.
