President Donald Trump acknowledged on Friday he has made mistakes on the popular social media platform Twitter with the content he has decided to tweet and retweet.
Barstool Sportsâ founder Dave Portnoy asked Trump if he ever regrets sending out a tweet.
Trump recognized moments where he wished he had not tweeted.
âOften, too often. It used to be in the old days before this, youâd write a letter and youâd say this letter is really big. You put it on your desk and then you go back tomorrow and you say, âOh, Iâm glad I didnât send it,â right?â Trump said.
He added, âBut we donât do that with Twitter, right? We put it out instantaneously, we feel great, and then you start getting phone calls, âDid you really say this?â I say, âWhatâs wrong with that?â and you find out a lot of things.â

Trump told Portnoy it is the retweets that land him in hot water.
Portnoy turned his attention to the presidentâs retweets and suggested Trump does not even look at the tweets, he just presses retweet and fires âfrom the hip.â
âYou see something that looks good and you donât investigate it and you donât look at whatâs on the helmet exactly, right, which is a miniature and you donât blow it up, and sometimes⌠I have found almost always itâs the retweets that get you in trouble,â Trump said.
Portnoy asked Trump if he âloves doing Twitter.â
Trump said âthere are timesâ when he loves it and sometimes he loves it âtoo much.â
He said the platform has been âvery importantâ for him.
Trump unleashed his latest Twitter attack on his niece, Dr. Mary Trump, amid the release of her tell-all book, âToo Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the Worldâs Most Dangerous Man,â as IJR previously reported.
