President Donald Trump said Friday on Fox Newsâ âHannityâ that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet.
Trump and Putin met in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday to discuss a potential end to the Ukraine-Russia conflict; however, no deal has been confirmed. In an interview with Fox Newsâ Sean Hannity, the president said that a follow-up meeting will be scheduled between the two foreign leaders, floating the idea that he might also attend.
âWe were together almost three hours, and it was very extensive, and we agreed on a lot of points. I mean, a lot of points were agreed on, but thereâs not that much, as you know, one or two pretty significant items. But I think they can be reached,â Trump said. âNow itâs really up to President Zelenskyy to get it done. And I would also say the European nations. They have to get involved a little bit, but itâs up to President Zelenskyy.â
âAnd if theyâd like, Iâll be at that next meeting. Theyâre going to set up a meeting now between President Zelenskyy and President Putin. And, myself, I guess, you know, I didnât even, I didnât ask about it. Not that I want to be there, but I want to make sure it gets done.â
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
