The term âall in the familyâ doesnât seem to apply to the Trumps â at least as far as votes are concerned.
Fred Trump III, former president Donald Trumpâs nephew, is planning to vote for his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, in the presidential election, The Hill reported.
His reasoning is her ideas and policies align with his.
âI believe in policy over Politics, and without question, Kamala Harrisâspolicies are what I get behind,â he said on âThe View.â âSo I will be voting for Kamala Harris.â
âAnd if Iâm asked, I will campaign for her without hesitation,â he said.
Fred Trump explained the family dynamics to ABC News Tuesday.
He said his uncle does things that are âcomplex and sometimes cruel.â
âAnd within every family, people know this, families are complicated. Every family has their crazy uncle,â he said. âMy uncle Donald is atomic crazy. And he has put his mark on the family history.
Fred Trump was making his rounds on TV promoting his new book, âAll in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way.â
The book contains ânever-before-told storiesâ about the Trump famil, including Fred Trumpâs complex relationship with his uncle.
A particular sticking point between the two are their stance on people with disabilities.
Fred Trump said his uncle once said people with disabilities âshould just die.â
Fred Trumpâs son William has a disability and when the nephew told Donald Trump that a medical fund for his son was running low, his response was unexpected.
âWithout hesitation said, âYour son doesnât recognize you. Let him die and move to Florida,ââ Fred Trump said. âMy response was, âNo, Donald. He does recognize me.ââ
âWas I surprised? I donât think you could hear something like that and not be surprised,â he said. âBut that is what he has become. Itâs sad.â
Steven Cheung, Trump communications director, said Fred Trumpâs claims are not true.
âThis is completely fabricated and total fake news of the highest order,â he said. âIt is appalling a lie so blatantly disgusting can be printed in media. Anyone who knows President Trump knows he would never use such language, and false stories like this have been thoroughly debunked.â
âThis is nothing more than a cheap shot to sell copies of a book that belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section,â Cheung said.
