Fox News’s Tucker Carlson slammed White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, calling her a “little fascist.”

During his show Wednesday, Carlson played a clip of Psaki’s remarks about Spotify’s decision to add a disclaimer to podcasts discussing COVID-19 amid the controversy surrounding Joe Rogan.

“This disclaimer is a positive step, but we want every platform to continue doing more to call out mis- and disinformation while also uplifting accurate information,” Psaki said.

She added, “But, ultimately, you know, our view is it’s a — it’s a — it’s a good step, it’s a positive step, but there’s more that can be done.”

Carlson weighed in, saying, “There’s more that can be done? Hey, you little fascist, that’s a threat. That’s exactly what it is. Politicians and their spokeschicks didn’t use to talk this way.”

He continued, “They were not allowed to talk this way because the First Amendment explicitly prohibits it. You’re not allowed to use government power to shut down broadcasters who criticize you, period. And now that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.”

On Sunday, Rogan posted a video to Instagram addressing the controversy surrounding his podcast.

“If I p—ed you off, I’m sorry,” Rogan said.

He continued, “I’m not trying to promote misinformation. I’m not trying to be controversial.”

Rogan explained he has “never tried to do anything with this podcast other than just talk to people and have interesting conversations.”

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek said Wednesday the company is “trying to balance creative expression with the safety of our users.”

Calling it a “very complicated issue,” Ek added, “But I’m really proud of the steps that we took following the concerns raised by the medical and scientific communities.”

He stressed Spotify does not “change our policies based on one creator nor do we change it based on any media cycle or calls from anyone else.”

Ek continued, “While Joe has a massive audience…he also has to abide by those policies.”
