A podcast host for The Daily Wire had his Twitter account suspended after he shared a Bible verse.
On Monday, conservative commentator Michael Knowles shared Romans 12:19, which reads, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’”
In a post on Instagram, Knowles wrote, “I’ve been suspended from for quoting the Bible. Specifically, I quoted a verse urging people not to take vengeance.”
He shared a screen shot of an email from Twitter that revealed his account had been locked.
It explained Twitter found his tweet violated the company’s “rules against violent speech.”
“You may not share abusive content, harass someone, or encourage other people to do so,” the rule stated.
In order to unlock the account, it told Knowles to delete the tweet.
The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh shared the screen shot of the email and wrote, “Attn: , Michael Knowles was suspended for posting a Bible verse. I assume this was a mistake.”
“Can we get his account restored asap?” he asked.
