The author of a book about British Prime Minister Liz Truss is having a rough day on Twitter following her resignation.
A tweet from Harry Cole resurfaced amid Truss’ announcement.
“Delighted to say ‘Out of the Blue: The inside story of Liz Truss and her astonishing rise to power’ by myself and for will be out for Christmas..” Cole tweeted.
Several Twitter users were quick to point out the irony.
Senior Correspondent at Vox, Ian Millhiser, tweeted, “Life comes at you fast.”

On Thursday, Truss resigned after only six weeks in office.
Yahoo! News noted the resignation made Truss the shortest-serving prime minister in U.K. history.
While delivering remarks outside her official residence, Truss explained she had met with the chairman of the 1922 Committee and agreed to holding a leadership election “within the next week,” as the outlet reported.
“This will ensure that we remain on a path to deliver our fiscal plans and maintain our country’s economic stability and national security,” Truss said.
Additionally, during her speech, Truss acknowledged they “set out a vision for a low-tax, high-growth economy that would take advantage of the freedoms of Brexit.”
Still, she recognized, “given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party. I have therefore spoken to His Majesty the King to announce that I am resigning as leader of the Conservative Party.”
President Joe Biden reacted to the announcement on Twitter.
“I thank Prime Minister Liz Truss for her partnership on a range of issues including holding Russia accountable for its war against Ukraine,” Biden tweeted.
He added, “We will continue our close cooperation with the U.K. government as we work together to meet the global challenges our nations face.”
