The 91-year-old British man who gave a viral interview on CNN after receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been given a second dose.
On Tuesday, Martin Kenyon told CNN he received the second round of his vaccination on Dec. 29.
Kenyon said he is in good health and calls the attention he still receives from his first interview ānonsense.ā
He gave the interview in early December after being included among those who were vaccinated early on in the United Kingdom, as IJR previously reported.
Kenyon was asked at the time how he went about getting the vaccine.
āI rang up Guyās Hospital, which I know very well⦠and I said, āWhatās this thing? Youāre doing the vaccination?ā They said, āYes,ā and then they spent various times asking me questions, about this and that, not very interesting,ā he said.
Kenyon added, āOf course I couldnāt damn well find anybody to park my car, so I was late⦠I went off and had a rather nasty lunch and then came back and they were ready for me.ā
He explained āit didnāt hurt at allā and he did not know āthe needle had gone in until it had come out. It was very interesting. No, it was painless.ā
Kenyon was then asked how it feels to be one of the first in the world to receive the vaccine.
āI donāt feel about it all, except that I hope Iām not going to have the bloody bug now. I donāt intend to have it because Iāve got granddaughters and I want to live a long time to enjoy their lives,ā he continued.

When asked about having immunity in the future, Kenyon said, āI donāt intend to have it. Well, thereās no point in dying now when Iāve lived this long. I donāt plan to anyway.ā
