The good news is entertainment legend Dick Van Dyke is still alive.
The bad news is the world lost actor James Van Der Beek.
But for a few moments on a U.K. radio show, the news was reversed, E! News reported.
Pussycat Dolls alum Ashley Roberts announced Van Dyke, 100, had died. Van Der Beek died Feb. 11 at 48 from colorectal cancer.
âI do have some sad news,â she said in the Feb. 12 episode of the U.K.-based Breakfast Show radio program, obtained by Daily Mail. âDawsonâs Creekâs Dick Van Dyke passed away.â
Her cohost Jamie Theakston quickly corrected her.
âNot Dick Van Dyke,â he said. âCome on, if youâre going to do a sensitive moment, if youâre going to do an obituary, you canât just say Dick Van Dyke.â
Theakston confirmed the âChitty Chitty Bang Bangâ and âMary Poppinsâ star, is âvery much still with us.â
âHeâs 100 years old,â Roberts said. âOh my gosh, weâve spoken about this. Iâm so sorry.â
Van Dyke recently not Ed how vibrant he felt stating he feels âlike Iâm about 13.â
âI feel really good for 100,â Van Dyke told People. âSometimes I have more energy than othersâbut I never wake up in a bad mood.â
Van Der Beekâs friends and family are reeling from the loss.
âOur beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,â a statement on his wife Kimberly Van Der Beekâs Instagram account read. âHe met his final days with courage, faith, and grace.â
