Vice President Kamala Harris is being mocked after delivering a speech in Highland Park, Illinois, after a mass shooting.
“We’ve got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are because you have been forced to take this seriously,” Harris said.
She continued, “The whole nation should understand and have a level of empathy to understand that this could happen anywhere any people in any community. And we should stand together and speak out about why it’s got to stop.”
A gunman opened fire at a Fourth of July parade and killed seven people.

This is not the first time Harris has sparked mockery with one of her speeches.
In May during a speech at an event, Harris said, “When we talk about the children of the community, they are the children of the community.”
She added, “And in that way, we should all feel a direct sense of responsibility.”
In March, Harris raised eyebrows with her comments about the passage of time.
“The Governor and I and we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time,” Harris said.
The vice president continued, “So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs.”
Additionally, Harris explained, “And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children and what that means to the future of our nation, depending on whether or not they have the resources they need to achieve their God-given talent.”
