Video of Harris’ Reaction to Biden’s Gaffe During SOTU Circulates

A video of Vice President Kamala Harris’ reaction to President Joe Biden’s gaffe during his 🏛️State of the Union address is making its rounds online.

During his speech, Biden said, “Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”

Harris then appeared to mouth “Ukrainian” to correct Biden’s mix-up.

Biden opened his speech calling out Russia’s “lies” amid its invasion of Ukraine, as IJR reported.

Calling President Vladimir Putin’s attack “premeditated and totally unprovoked,” Biden added, “He rejected repeated efforts at diplomacy.”

He said Putin believed “the West and NATO wouldn’t respond. And he thought he could divide us at home. … Putin was wrong. We are ready. We are united and that’s what we did. We stayed united. We prepared.”

Biden added, “We prepared extensively and carefully. We spent months building a coalition of other freedom-loving nations from Europe and the Americas to Asia and Africa to confront Putin.”

The president explained the U.S. “countered Russia’s lies with truth. And now that he has acted the free world is holding him accountable.”

Biden also announced “that we will join our allies in closing off American airspace to all Russian flights, further isolating Russia and adding an additional squeeze on their economy.”

Fox News reported expert analysis from several top communications officials showed Biden’s speech fell short of addressing certain issues.

“The best thing President Biden said tonight was his call to fund the police — an act of leadership to help stop left-wing radicals in his own party from setting policing policies,” David Wilezol, president of ghostwriting firm Seventh Floor Strategies and former chief speechwriter at the State Department, told the network.

He added, “And on the foreign policy front, President Biden sounded appropriately tough as the commander-in-chief and genuinely sympathetic to the plight of Ukrainians who are fighting for their lives. But that won’t make up for the Administration’s posture of weakness which helped provoke Vladimir Putin’s invasion.”
