Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani stunned judges on Fox’s The Masked Singer.

He was unmasked as a contestant on the show and proceeded to sing George Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone.”

Jenny McCarthy shouted, “I had no idea!”

Robin Thicke said, “This is definitely something I never would have guessed.”

Nick Cannon chimed in, saying, “With all of the controversy that’s surrounding you right now, I think it surprises us all that you’re here on The Masked Singer.”

When asked what made him decide to appear on the show, Giuliani replied, “I guess the main reason is I just had a granddaughter, Grace, and I want her to know that you should try everything, even things that are completely unlike you and unlikely.”

He added, “I enjoy the show, I have for years.”

Giuliani called it a “really wonderful experience.”

He started singing as Ken Jeong walked away, saying, “I’m done.”

Tom Nunan, former president of NBC Studios and UPN, told The Washington Post he is “sure there’s a world where people may tune in because of the controversy, but it can ultimately create a backlash if they kind of compromise a viewer’s trust.”

He added, “When you pull a stunt like that, you might end up alienating whole sections of those quadrants. There’s great risk involved — so you might experience a temporary high, but what’s the cost?”

NBC News noted Giuliani has been at the center of several controversies.

In June 2021, a New York appellate court suspended Rudy Giuliani’s law license, as NBC News reported.

The court found Giuliani made “demonstrably false and misleading” statements about the 2020 election.

“We conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’s failed effort at reelection in 2020,” the court said in the decision.
