Vice President J.D. Vance has offered his perspective of the very public blow up between the vice president, President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office last week.
According to Fox News, Vance said the whole thing kicked off when Vance answered a reporter’s question about diplomacy between Ukraine and Russian President Vladimir Putin in ending the war that began in 2022.
Vance told Fox News host Sean Hannity that Zelenskyy had a “lack of respect” and a “sense of entitlement” when he met with Vance and Trump at the White House.
During the meeting, Vance had said that it was important to engage in diplomacy with Putin, when he was interrupted by Zelenskyy who went on to say that Russia had illegally annexed Crimea in 2014 and had violated a ceasefire in 2019.
“What kind of diplomacy, JD, you are speaking about? What do you mean?” Zelenskyy asked.
“I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country,” Vance responded. “I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media…You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict.”
