Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s first televised sit-down since announcing her resignation took a tense turn when she and “60 Minutes” host Lesley Stahl fell into a familiar pattern of sharp exchanges.
According to Fox News, Greene, who is set to leave Congress on Jan. 5, sat down with Stahl to discuss her recent apology for participating in what she described as “toxic Politics.”
The Georgia Republican told CNN last month, “I would like to say humbly, I‘m sorry for taking part in the toxic Politics… it’s very bad for our country.” She added that she’d reflected on her role in the political climate, saying she was committed to “put down the knives in Politics.”
But Stahl pressed her on that commitment.
“But you contributed to that,” Stahl said during Sunday’s interview. “You. You, you were out there pounding, insulting people.”
