A spokesperson for HSGAC Permanent Subcommittee On Investigations Chair Ron Johnson has confirmed that his subcommittee received the iPhone Fauci used during his time as the nationās top public health official.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the news Thursday.
Paul has been investigating Fauci since he became the committeeās top Republican in 2023. Paulās HSGAC voted 8 to 7 along party lines to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress earlier Thursday morning, just over a week after the public health official pleaded the Fifth 111 times at the committeeās hearing.
He continued to seek answers to questions that remained unanswered from his earlier interrogations of Fauci as a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, including the question of whether he lied under oath about gain-of-function research in Wuhan.
When Republicans gained control of the Senate in 2025, Paul became the committeeās chairman and could begin compelling testimony and subpoenaing records. Johnson gained the gavel of the investigatory subcommittee. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. began turning over records. Some of the most prominent critics of Fauci at the height of the COVID pandemic are now working tangent towards transparency.
Paulās published Fauciās detailed diary on July 25.
