West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) is warning people who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 that they are taking a risk with their lives.
âWhen you turn your back and say âNope Iâm not doing that,â all youâre doing is entering the death drawing,â Justice said on Thursday.
He continued, âIf I knew for certain that there was going to be eight or nine by next Tuesday, and I could be one of them if I donât take the vaccine. What in the world do you think I would do? I mean, I would run over top of somebody cause I donât want to take the chance when the wheel spins⌠that it could come up Jim Justice. I donât want to take that chance.â

His comments come as the U.S. is expected to miss President Joe Bidenâs goal of getting at least one dose of the vaccine to 70% of adults by July 4.
Additionally, while Justice warned that people who do not get vaccinated are taking a risk with their lives, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Rochelle Walensky says that every coronavirus death is âpreventableâ because of the vaccines.
âCovid-19 vaccines are available for everyone ages 12 and up,â Walensky said Tuesday. âThey are nearly 100% effective against severe disease and death â meaning nearly every death due to Covid-19 is particularly tragic, because nearly every death, especially among adults, due to Covid-19 is at this point entirely preventable.â
