White House Says Tariffs on Mexico, Canada, And China Begin Saturday

Hefty tariffs on imports from 🇲🇽Mexico, 🇨🇦Canada, and China will begin on Saturday, under the direction of President 👤Donald Trump.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Friday that the tariffs for all three countries begin Saturday after she was asked whether this would start a trade war with 🇨🇦Canada, after Prime Minister 👤Justin Trudeau said he would “respond” and not relent until the tariffs have been removed.

“I don’t think so. I think the president is going to implement those tariffs tomorrow, and he will respond to Mr. Trudeau’s comments in due time, I am sure.” Leavitt said.

Leavitt noted that the reason the tariffs are being imposed on all three countries is because they have not only allowed illegal immigrants to pour into the U.S. but have also enabled dangerous drugs to come across the border unchecked. China is one of the largest manufacturers of fentanyl in the world.
