Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of āThe View,ā had a few choice words to share after Fridayās meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.Ā
One of those words was āembarrassing,ā per The Hill.
āYou know, that has to be one of the most embarrassing things Iāve ever seen,ā she said Monday on ABCās āThe View.ā
āThis is a leader of a sovereign nation, and you are doing theater with him, because youāre trying to show that youāre the hard guy. But I donāt think anybody wanted you to be the hard guy,ā she said.
Goldberg continued by mentioning those who voted for Trump may not have agreed what they saw play out live on television.
āI donāt think you asked anybody how they felt, how people who voted for you. You didnāt ask them how they feel about what youāre doing. You didnāt ask them if they want to be operatives of Putinās government. You havenāt asked that,ā she said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump called Zelensky āungratefulā for U.S.ās support. He also said Zelensky didnāt have āthe cardsā in negotiations with Putin.
Trump ordered a pause on U.S. aid to Ukraine in its war against Russia on Monday.
Goldberg stated she supports Ukraine.
āAnd Iām sorry, I do stand with you, Zelensky, because youāve been fighting. Your countryās been fighting, and youāve been doing it on your own, and youāve been getting help, but I stand with yāall,ā Goldberg said. āBecause nobody should ever be able to come into your country and say, āThis is my country.āā
