A young Puerto Rican voter told a CNN reporter Tuesday that she supports Republican nominee Donald Trump because she wants a president who will provide a ābetter life in the future.ā
The first-time voter said she wants Trump to win and brushed off the embattled joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe during an Oct. 27 rally at Madison Square Garden, where he joked that Puerto Rico is a āfloating island of garbage.ā The voter said while she found the joke offensive, she accepts herself and is focused on a better future.
āWho do you want to win?ā CNN correspondent Randi Kaye asked.
āTrump,ā the voter replied.

The voter said she and her family collectively made the decision to vote for Trump because Vice President Kamala Harris did not provide any clear answer on how she would benefit Americansā lives, Kaye said. The CNN host pressed the voter on whether she found Hinchcliffeās joke acceptable.
āAs a Puerto Rican, youāre okay with that, though?ā Kaye asked.
āNo, definitely not. I just think, you know, everyone has opinions. They donāt like Puerto Ricans, it hurts, of course, but at the end of the day Iām okay with who I am and at the end of the day, I want to have a better life in the future,ā the voter said.
Trump came under fire for Hinchcliffeās joke during the massive rally at Madison Square Garden, which the corporate media compared to the Nazi rally at the stadium in 1939. Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton, have held political events and rallies at the same stadium in the past.
