President Joe Biden is receiving criticism for his upcoming plan to pay a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Wednesday, Fox News reported Biden said it is his “intention” to visit the border, citing a report.
Biden reportedly made the remark at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, saying he plans to visit the border during his time at the North American Leaders’ Summit this month.
The outlet noted the planned visit to the border will mark the first of Biden’s presidency.
According to the report, people familiar with discussions surrounding the matter explained to The Wall Street Journal Biden will not make a policy announcement if he makes the trip to the border.
Twitter users were quick to remind Biden he should have visited sooner.
Nile Gardinder, a Telegraph contributor, wrote, “Only two years late in getting to the border. Joe Biden is quite possibly the laziest and most clueless president in US history.”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said, “President Biden will give remarks today on border security with VP Harris, his ‘Border Czar,’ in attendance. He should do two things: 1) Fire his current Border Czar 2) Confirm a trip to the southern border.”

Remember when the @JoeBiden administration said that going to the border was a “stunt?”

Biden’s going to the border next week.
Visiting the border is meaningless if Biden continues to push policies that invite illegal immigration.

Policies matter. Not photo ops.
If Biden goes to the border, it will be to tee up the next Democrat push for “comprehensive immigration reform” (mass amnesty for 20 million+) with endless CNN/NYT stories about “dreamers” who are about to cure cancer and achieve world peace https://t.co/Tx3JxU7eJx

I hope Biden follows through, sees firsthand that the border is NOT secure & REMOVES Secretary Mayorkas immediately.
John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, told reporters in December that Biden’s trip would include initiatives to “address climate and environmental challenges,” The Washington Post reported.
It would also “help increase North America’s competitiveness, protect the health and safety of our citizens, jointly respond, of course, to irregular migration in the region, and advance diversity, equity and inclusion.”
The Post noted U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported close to 2.4 million arrests along the Mexico border in the 2022 fiscal year alone.
