Twitter users were quick to remind Biden he should have visited sooner.

Nile Gardinder, a Telegraph contributor, wrote, “Only two years late in getting to the border. Joe Biden is quite possibly the laziest and most clueless president in US history.”

Do you think he should have visited sooner?

The Twitter account NumbersUSA argued, “Pres. Biden has made it clear he has no intention to secure the border.”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said, “President Biden will give remarks today on border security with VP Harris, his ‘Border Czar,’ in attendance. He should do two things: 1) Fire his current Border Czar 2) Confirm a trip to the southern border.”

John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, told reporters in December that Biden’s trip would include initiatives to “address climate and environmental challenges,” The Washington Post reported.

It would also “help increase North America’s competitiveness, protect the health and safety of our citizens, jointly respond, of course, to irregular migration in the region, and advance diversity, equity and inclusion.”

The Post noted U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported close to 2.4 million arrests along the Mexico border in the 2022 fiscal year alone.
