The son of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was arrested Tuesday and is now facing 22 charges in a Colorado court.

Tyler Boebert, 18, was arrested by the Rifle Police Department after a “recent string of vehicle trespass and property thefts” in Rifle, a town in Colorado’s 3rd congressional district, Business Insider reported.

“According to Garfield County Jail‘s records, Tyler Boebert is facing four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, four counts of criminal possession of ID documents, and a count of conspiracy to commit a felony,” Business Insider reported. ”He’s also charged with four misdemeanor counts of ID theft, three misdemeanor counts of first-degree criminal trespass, and three misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.”

He was also charged with three counts of the petty offense of theft of less than $300.

This latest arrest comes on the heels of a year of turmoil for the Boebert family.

“Lauren Boebert announced earlier this year that she intended to run for a new seat in 2024, shifting her campaign to Colorado’s 4th district,” according to Business Insider.

She said in a Facebook post this is move a “fresh start” for her family.

In the past year has seen Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband was arrested twice. She and ex-husband Jayson Boebert have had a contentious divorce. They share four sons, Business Insider reported.

There was also a restraining order and an incident with “her appearing to get handsy with another man in a local theater,” according to Business Insider.

Trouble for the family is documented in December 2022 when Tyler Boebert called 911 and accused his father of “throwing” him around the house, according to an emergency call obtained by Business Insider’s Haven Orecchio-Egresitz.

Tyler Bieber then said the argument wasn’t physical; his father told Business Insider it was an oral argument.

In January this year, Jayson Boebert was arrested following an altercation at a restaurant.

Tyler Boebert accused his father three days later of “shoving him to the ground and putting his hand in his mouth, as well as arming himself during the incident,” according to a police report, as Business Insider wrote, and Jayson Boebert was re-arrested. The outlet added this month Lauren Boebert was granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband.

In March of 2023, Lauren Boebert announced that at 36, she was going to be a grandmother as Tyler Boebert was expecting a baby with his girlfriend.

She was a teenage parent.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported she was trying to convince her new district that she wasn’t all drama.
