Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) believes former President Donald Trump infected him with COVID-19.
PBS’ Margaret Hoover noted Christie spent a week in the intensive care unit battling the virus. She went on to point out that Christie tested positive for Covid three days after the presidential debate between Trump and President Joe Biden.
Hoover then mentioned how Christie was with Trump for four days prior to the debate, beginning on September 26.
“According to Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, in his new book, Trump tested positive for Covid on September 26, six days before he revealed that he had been diagnosed with Covid,” Hoover explained.
When asked what his reaction was to Meadows’ book, Christie replied, “I can’t believe Mark Meadows didn’t tell me.” He argued Trump should have been the one to tell those he came into contact with.
Hoover later asked Christie, “So did this confirm for you that you did, in fact, get it from the president?”
NEW: @GovChristie says it’s "inexcusable" Mark Meadows didn’t reveal President Trump's positive COVID test during debate prep and "saved it for a book."

So does Christie, who spent a week in intensive care with the virus, believe Trump infected him?

Christie responded, saying, “I think it’s undeniable.”
During an interview with Newsmax last week, Meadows denied that Trump contracted Covid prior to the first debate, as IJR reported.
The former White House chief of staff wrote in his book that the former president took another test and it came back negative. They were also convinced the result of the first test was a false positive.
Trump said the claim that he had the virus during the debate was “fake news.”
“Well, the president’s right. It’s fake news,” Meadows said during his interview with Newsmax. “If you actually read the book, the context of it, that story outlined a false positive.”
He added, “Literally, he had a test, had two other tests after that, showed that he didn’t have Covid during the debate. And yet, you know the way that the media wants to spin it is certainly to be as negative about Donald Trump as they possibly can while giving Joe Biden a pass.”
