21,380 NEWDERY Power Banks Recalled Over Fire Risk

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 21,380 NEWDERY ZHX-PB22 power banks sold on Amazon from October 2023 to November 2024, after reports that their lithium-ion batteries could explode or ignite. The black devices have yellow cables, the NEWDERY name on the front and the model number on the back; reported incidents include one burn injury and a fire that caused about $2 million in property damage. Consumers should stop using affected power banks and contact NEWDERY to arrange a full refund, following the company’s instructions for documenting the unit.
