250-plus Join Bishop-Led Providence Migrant Walk
Catholic communities are emphasizing mercy, solidarity and shared faith across differences. Pope Francis’s message of welcome and care for marginalized people echoes in Providence, where more than 250 people joined a public Way of the Cross in solidarity with immigrants and refugees. Other reflections urge Catholics to look beyond disputes over worship and politics, recognizing that many disagreements are matters of preference while still engaging seriously with shared responsibilities such as caring for creation. In Brooklyn, a Polish American Heritage Month Mass linked the preservation of Polish identity to living faith, sacrificial love and hope, while honoring the immigrant generations who helped build local parishes and communities.
