Heroes Flight Carries 31 Veterans from Texas and Oklahoma to Washington

Brookshire Grocery Company’s 22nd Heroes Flight is taking 31 veterans from Oklahoma and Texas, including 16 from East Texas, to Washington, D.C., for a three-day trip honoring their service. The itinerary includes the Library of Congress and the nation’s military memorials, where veterans can reflect on their experiences and sacrifices. Veterans are accompanied by guardians who assist them throughout the journey, while organizers and volunteers say seeing veterans receive recognition and respond emotionally to the visits makes the trips especially meaningful. Honor Flight of the Ozarks and other groups also bring veterans to the capital for similar visits.
