3M Beats EPS Estimates, Raises Full-Year Adjusted Guidance
3M reported strong third-quarter 2026 performance, citing sales growth, margin expansion, double-digit adjusted earnings-per-share growth and robust free cash flow. It said its full-year outlook and long-term growth prospects remain supported by productivity improvements, structural changes and a stronger pipeline of differentiated products; updated non-GAAP accounting to treat intangible-asset amortization as a special item, lifting the quarter’s adjusted operating margin by about 40 basis points and adjusted EPS by about 4 cents without materially changing year-over-year comparisons. The company also announced an expanded Amazon relationship to develop and scale optical-connectivity and other data-center products, alongside an investment and technology collaboration with optical manufacturer GSEO. Ahead of the report, analysts had expected EPS of $2.39 and revenue of $6.61 billion, following a second quarter that beat expectations and prompted an increase in full-year adjusted EPS guidance.
