40-City Bus Tour Spotlights Health Care Cuts

Protect Our Care’s “Sick of It! Fix Health Care Now” bus tour is bringing health care advocates, elected officials and people affected by coverage changes to communities across the country, including stops in Colorado, Iowa and Michigan. The campaign is urging Congress to restore enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits, reverse Medicaid cuts and take additional steps to lower prescription and out-of-pocket costs. Organizers say the Republican-backed Big Beautiful Bill cut more than $1 trillion from Medicaid and reduced ACA tax credits; the Colorado event highlighted an estimate that as many as 200,000 residents could lose Medicaid coverage. At stops including Davenport, participants shared stories about how changes to health care programs have affected them.
