57% of Parents Regularly Fund Adult Children
Parents are increasingly stretched by family costs: a UK survey found that 57% of parents with children ages 18 to 35 still provide regular financial help, averaging £363 a month, sometimes at the expense of their own savings. Separate advice for stay-at-home mothers facing one-income budgets recommends planning spending intentionally, setting aside money for occasional convenience expenses, delaying nonessential purchases, and maintaining savings, including an emergency fund. For single parents considering self-employment, starting small and testing demand before investing heavily can limit risk; a viable business also needs to fit the parent’s dependable working hours and household needs.
