Abbotsford Canucks stretch win streak to eight as Vancouver falls to Oilers
The Vancouver Canucks lost 4-2 to the Edmonton Oilers, extending their losing streak to five games and leaving them with a 3-15-1 record. Vancouver battled back after a slow start, with Max Sasson scoring late in the first period and Brock Boeser also finding the net, but defensive lapses and a late disputed icing call helped derail the comeback. Coach Manny Malhotra pointed to missed assignments and puck battles as costly against Edmonton’s high-powered offense. Meanwhile, the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks won their eighth straight, edging the Ontario Reign 2-1 behind goals from Ty Mueller and Trey Fix-Wolansky and 21 saves by Nikita Tolopilo.
