Accenture Outlook Boosts Indian IT Sentiment
Accenture reported fourth-quarter revenue of $18.68 billion, up 7% in constant currency. Chair and CEO Julie Sweet said it “exceeded our fourth-quarter revenue guidance range and capped off another year of broad-based growth across our business, grew adjusted EPS 8 per cent, returned a record $11.5 billion to shareholders and reached a new high of 141 quarterly client bookings of $100 million or more.” Bookings totaled $22.2 billion. The company forecast 3% to 6% FY2027 revenue growth and said nearly 100 more clients started advanced AI work this quarter, more than 400 in FY26. The Nifty IT index advanced 1.5% in early trade, later flat at 28,397.45, after a 24.5% year-to-date drop. Persistent Systems, TCS, Wipro, Coforge and MphasiS rose up to 5%; Infosys and HCL Tech traded negative. Independent Journal Review said benefits have yet to translate into broad-based growth for Indian IT, with tight budgets and pricing pressure keeping near-term growth subdued. Moneycontrol flagged AI demand hopes alongside pricing pressure. Hindu Business Line cited Emkay on fixed-price and outcome-based work exceeding 65% of bookings and stabilising rather than strong recovery demand, and reported Q2 earnings start with TCS on October 8.
