Acosta Wins Rain-Hit Malaysian MotoGP Sprint

Pedro Acosta won the rain-threatened Malaysian Grand Prix sprint at Sepang, passing Ai Ogura late in the 10-lap race and finishing ahead of Marc Márquez. Marco Bezzecchi took third, while polesitter Alex Márquez crashed out of the lead on lap three; Ogura finished fourth. Marc Márquez’s second-place result extended his championship lead over Jorge Martín to 19 points after Martín withdrew because of persistent pain from his wrist injury. Acosta’s victory was his second of the season and his first in a sprint race.
