Acton, Brown Make Final Ohio Campaign Push
Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton and U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown made late-campaign appearances in Cincinnati and Dayton, pitching lower costs, public-school and health-care support, and action against political corruption and corporate influence. Acton drew on her childhood experiences of abuse and hardship and condemned Republican opponent Vivek Ramaswamy’s attack ad featuring her estranged mother, saying her past was being used as a political weapon. Brown focused on affordability and income inequality, criticizing rising household costs and alleging that officials favored powerful corporations. Springfield-born singer John Legend appeared at the Dayton rally, urging voters to support Acton and Brown and criticizing Ramaswamy and Republican Sen. Jon Husted, Brown’s opponent.
