Adebayo Sets Heat Rebound Record in First Win

Bam Adebayo became the Miami Heat’s all-time leading rebounder Wednesday, grabbing nine boards in a 129-117 win over the Atlanta Hawks to reach 5,794 and pass Udonis Haslem’s 5,791. Haslem, who held the record since 2012 and mentored Adebayo during his decade with Miami, shared the milestone’s emotional significance; coach Erik Spoelstra praised Adebayo’s toughness and work ethic. The victory was Miami’s first of the season after an 0-4 start, and Giannis Antetokounmpo helped lead the way with 24 points and 18 rebounds. Miami built an early lead, attacked the basket and forced 15 turnovers before holding off Atlanta’s late push.
